I'm becoming convinced that most of the Democrat-versus-Republican conflict is political theater. The parties trade accusations on TV and we fight over them, while politicians on six-figure salaries seem to leave Washington worth millions. Neither party fixes the problems it blames on the other. Government grows, debt rises and our money buys less. Maybe the real fight is Washington versus the rest of us, and we're still fighting their battles. Tone rewrite only. Claims remain the author's and are not independently verified.
About the claims
Amber: broad wealth, debt and purchasing-power claims are unverified and remain the author's account. The enrichment claim is qualified with 'seem'; no criminal conduct is asserted. Misinformation check: the Senate's official compensation table supports six-figure salaries, but neither that table nor the rewrite verifies wealth changes or their cause.
