De Niro has spent fifty years of goodwill on insults and tears, and his record does not match his sermons. A federal jury hit his company with a 1.26 million dollar verdict for gender discrimination and retaliation, he fought a small town for years over his property tax bill, and he owed millions in back taxes. His last two films grossed 9.6 million and 90,000 dollars against budgets of 50 and 45 million. The public has moved on. Tone rewrite only. So Selena’s estate can include Beyoncé in her documentary to profit off Beyoncé’s name, but Beyoncé cannot sample Selena? Y’all hypocrisy sickens the fuck out of me. https://t.co/cNTGnyGfcb

The Washington Post reports that while Witkoff and Kushner were in Moscow to negotiate an end to Russia's war on Ukraine, they were also discussing large US-Russian economic projects with the Kremlin, which Putin's adviser Ushakov confirmed. Reuters reported the same. The men entrusted with a peace settlement are simultaneously talking business with the other side. Watch whether any deal ends up benefiting Trump-linked interests. They are protesting 0.063% of the total UK population of irregular migrants on boats. That's 44,000 out of a 70 million population (end of March 2026). Legal migrants were 815,000. Absolute clowns.

🚨 ANC, THE GOGOS ARE FED UP! 😂 ANC: “We gave you RDP houses and social grants, so you owe us your vote.” Gogo: “Hawu, wena! You gave us these things because it’s government’s job, not because we signed a lifetime voting contract!” 😂 Gone are the days when a house or grant…

The ANC line is that RDP houses and social grants earn a lifetime of votes. The gogos are no longer buying it. Government delivered those things because that is its job, not because anyone signed a voting contract. A grandmother can appreciate the house and the grant and still vote for someone else.

The Bayeux Tapestry is in England for the first time since it was made. The King calls it the Canterbury Embroidery.

Charles, Camilla, the Macrons and Andy Burnham walked its 70 metres at the British Museum on 2 September.

  1. The loan: Britain first asked in 1931. Macron called eight years of talks 'something of a speed record'. It returns to Normandy once the Bayeux museum renovation is finished.
  2. The visit: The King said 'we are united' and joked the work was probably commissioned in Normandy but stitched in Canterbury. It opens to the public on 10 September and runs to 11 July 2027.
  3. The objection: David Hockney criticised the loan in January over physical and environmental risk to the medieval linen. Conservators plan scientific testing when it goes home.

The Don Lemon case is under review. It has not been dismissed.

A federal judge ordered the Justice Department to provide grand-jury records while considering Lemon's challenge to his indictment. The review is unusual, but it is not a dismissal.

  1. What happened: The judge requested normally secret grand-jury material to examine claims that prosecutors used irregular procedures or misstated facts and law.
  2. What is pending: The court is deciding whether any alleged misconduct justifies disclosure or dismissal. No charge was dismissed by this review order.
  3. The case: Lemon pleaded not guilty to federal civil-rights charges tied to his coverage of a January protest at a Minnesota church. He says he was reporting, not participating.
