The vote

On September 1 the rule passed by one vote, 209 to 208 per Fox News and 210 to 208 per the Washington Examiner, with the two Democrats joining Republicans.

What it unlocked

A resolution condemning socialism, which then passed 220 to 192 with eight Democrats voting yes, the SAVE Act voter-eligibility bill, and other GOP bills. Golden cited a Maine lobster bill.

The response

Jeffries, Clark and Aguilar called it a significant breach of trust that necessitates a serious response and referred both members to the Committee on Caucus Rules. No penalty has been named.
