Two days of posts said the SEC would vote to expel LSU on Thursday. LSU's president wrote to the commissioner, dropped the two players at the center of the fight, and the vote left the agenda.

What the fight was about
LSU wanted to roster Dae'Quan Wright and Zxavian Harris, who had signed NFL contracts, against an SEC rule its members had approved. The SEC amended its lawsuit and called a presidents' meeting for September 10 on LSU's membership.
What changed
President Wade Rousse told Greg Sankey the roster is locked without the two players, LSU complied with SEC rules and the issue is moot. Reports say expulsion is no longer on the agenda.
What is still open
The federal court hearing was postponed, not dropped. The amended complaint stands, and fines or a Kiffin suspension are reported as possible but not announced.
