Theranos ran on one rule: nobody gets to see the machine. Now Holmes's comeback vehicle is a film called You Can See Everything, with a commutation request pending and her partner raising money for a new blood-testing startup. The strange part is the director. Fielder's whole craft is catching people performing. Either she thinks she can outperform him, or she is betting that sincerity a skeptical camera cannot break will look earned. Tone rewrite only. Claims remain the author's and are not independently verified.

Nathan Fielder's secret Elizabeth Holmes documentary is real

A24 revealed 'You Can See Everything' as Telluride's surprise screening on Sunday night. Holmes invited the crew in 34 days before prison, and it grew into a three-year project.

  1. What was revealed: Fielder and Lance Oppenheim directed the film. The teaser hit 15 million views in hours, and Holmes's own account replied 'I'm always being real.' A24 will put it in theaters in October; no date is confirmed yet.
  2. How it was made: Filming began in 2023, weeks before Holmes reported to prison on a fraud sentence of over 11 years. Fielder lived with her and Billy Evans and kept visiting her in prison. The cut runs about three hours. Phones went into sealed pouches, and Emma Stone moderated the Q&A.
  3. What the argument is about: Critics who saw it call it wild and inventive; Fielder said he still struggles to understand what he experienced. Skeptics call it a comeback vehicle while her commutation request is pending, and point to the patients who were misdiagnosed by tests that never worked.

Britain is not poor. It has been mismanaged into looking poor. Taxes are heading for historic highs while services and infrastructure rot, and more than 100 billion pounds a year goes on debt interest that builds nothing. An island with energy under the sea, food in the soil and fish in the water has sold, shuttered or regulated its productive base into exhaustion, so water, energy and food are insecure, expensive or both. The first duty of government is to protect the people it represents; instead the political class treats a national emergency as a communications problem. Tone rewrite only. Lee Kuan Yew did not remove corruption from the human heart. He made it rare, dangerous and shameful through a system: he refused gifts himself and held ministers to the same rule, gave the anti-graft bureau power over anyone including ministers, paid officials enough that they did not need bribes, and made the bribe a public stain rather than a clever move. Remove any one piece and it weakens. Singapore stayed clean because the men at the top were willing to punish their own, which is the part most countries refuse.

Gabriel's boot met Martinez's head. Here is why there was no card.

Five minutes into Arsenal 2-1 Chelsea, Gabriel caught Emi Martinez in the head and play went on. The anger online is about a red card; the decision turned on one rule.

  1. What happened: An Odegaard free kick produced a goalmouth scramble. Both players were on the ground when Gabriel kicked at the ball and hit Martinez's head. VAR reviewed it and restarted play with no action.
  2. Why no card: Under Law 12, violent conduct means excessive force while not challenging for the ball. Gabriel was judged to be playing the ball, so that route closed. VAR intervenes only for a clear and obvious error, a high bar in a scramble.
  3. What the argument is about: Chelsea fans and Haaland call it a disgrace and point to a boot in the head. Others say intent was impossible to read; Gary Neville said Gabriel simply missed the ball. Arsenal stay top on three from three.

Leicester lost 4-0 at home to Oxford. Russell Martin has one win in five in League One.

Appointed in July, Martin is already the subject of 'worst manager of the century' posts after Saturday's result at the King Power.

  1. The result: The Athletic and Ben Jacobs report the 4-0 home defeat and one win from the opening five League One games. Leicester's own appointment post from July has 1,500 replies.
  2. The verdict online: FootyAccums, at 262,000 views, calls it 'a generationally awful managerial run' and makes a case for worst manager of the 21st century. Vararse_ asks how you lose 4-0 at home in League One with Leicester.
  3. The record behind it: Martin's recent spells at Southampton and Rangers both ended early, and the Rangers 'mentality problem' interview from last season is being reposted. Nobody in the room is defending him yet, and there is no word from the club.

Gasly lost his Monaco podium on Friday. On Saturday he took his first pole, at Monza.

The FIA's court of appeal reinstated a pit-lane speeding penalty and handed P3 to Hadjar. A day later Gasly put the Alpine on pole in front of Briatore.

  1. The appeal: formularacers_, at 572,000 views, reports the International Court of Appeal reinstated Gasly's Monaco penalties for speeding in the pit lane, dropping him to seventh and giving Isack Hadjar the podium. Briatore told the press one judge in the case has links to McLaren.
  2. Robbed: Gasly's line, 'they've robbed us, this won't end here', has 152,000 views on Nachez98's post. Alpine has not said what the next step is.
  3. Monza: F1's own post of the pole has 2.6 million views and 114,000 likes. F1BigData notes Gasly had 190 starts without a pole, the second most ever. The jokes about Briatore's mood and George Russell losing pole are the fun half of the room.

Miriam Margolyes asked Andi Peters 'what are you'. ITV cut it and said nothing.

On ITV's This Morning, Margolyes assumed Peters had a white parent and called him 'high-yalla'. The clip has passed 5 million views.

  1. What was said: Margolyes suggested a black father and white mother. When Peters said both parents are black, she called him 'high-yalla', a plantation-era term for lighter-skinned black people. Peters told her the producers were 'getting nervous'.
  2. ITV's edit: ripx4nutmeg's post, at 1.5 million views, says ITV cut the exchange from the online version and issued no apology. Narinder Kaur, at 187,000, reads Peters' calm as a black presenter managing someone else's racism on air.
  3. The scrutiny argument: Stephen Pollard's Telegraph column calls her 'an irrational disgrace' and says a straight white man would have been cancelled years ago. AntSpeaks, at 463,000 views, notes she was there to promote a book about racism and the far right.

Jay-Z plays London tonight. The room is arguing about how fast it sold.

A 30-year celebration show at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on 4 September, preceded by a Trafalgar Square pop-up. One observation about sales turned into a legacy debate.

  1. The observation: Ronke Lawal wrote that Jay-Z 'may very well have overestimated his current popularity or underestimated the current economic climate'. It passed 695,000 views. She later added she likes him as an artist and was only surprised the shows did not sell out sooner.
  2. The pop-up: Footage of Jay-Z at his Trafalgar Square pop-up passed 763,000 views. One reply room reads the walkabout as 'hoping to whip up a frenzy' and says a Kanye or 50 Cent appearance would have been chaos.
  3. What is not known: No sales figures are public. The stadium's own announcement from July passed 444,000 views. Whether the show sold out, and when, is the unresolved question in every thread.

Two Nintendo Directs in two days. Zelda gets its own, then Switch 2 alone.

Nintendo announced a Zelda 40th Anniversary Direct for 8 September and a Switch 2 Direct for 9 September. The prediction rooms filled within hours.

  1. The announcement: Nintendo of America's post passed 5 million views. The Zelda showcase runs about 30 minutes, the Switch 2 one about 45 and is billed as focused on games launching this winter.
  2. The wishlists: Prediction threads want Ocarina of Time remake gameplay and a first Zelda movie trailer. Nintendeal's 'most unrealistic expectations' prompt drew 1,400 replies and 220,000 views.

  2. The showcase: Gold Derby described Taylor Swift's Icon Sessions as giving her access to the songwriter voters who decide Song of the Year. Replies split between fair campaigning and buying influence.
  3. The confession: Pusha T described the touring and appearances needed to compete after Clipse lost Best Rap Album to Kendrick Lamar. Replies read it as industry politics, as sour grapes, or as an honest account of his own effort. Rooms carried 162K, 73K and 58K views.

  2. The reply: On 3 September Erigga posted five times, asking why a post naming nobody made Davido 'crash out', calling him 'Ambassador of RICH KIDS' and 'Slovido', and saying disability insults are never cool.

Jelly Roll's Kimmel week ends in tears and a fight over unity

The country star closed a week of guest-hosting Kimmel with a tearful plea to love your neighbor, no exemptions. The reaction split hard.

  1. The backlash: The loudest camp says he spent the week attacking Trump and his own fans, then played victim: the tears read as damage control and the jokes as career suicide.
  2. The defense: The most visible defense comes from inside country music, not from the left: speaking your mind when half your audience may disown you for it is about as American as it gets.
  3. The meta take: A third camp skips the jokes entirely and argues the industry owns him now, reading the week as a loyalty pledge to Hollywood rather than a conviction.

The coroner and the state disagree. The fight is over one phrase.

The coroner says the infant died of a ruptured spleen, not measles. The state stands by 'measles-associated'. Both can be describing the same facts.

  1. What each side says: Coroner Stephen Diamantoni says the baby died of internal bleeding from a spleen rupture, with measles ruled out as a factor. The state uses measles-associated whenever lab evidence of infection is present.
  2. Why the words collide: Associated measures whether infection was present. A coroner's ruling assigns cause. Treating them as the same claim turns a definitional gap into an accusation of lying.
  3. What is still unclear: Reporters who reviewed the county records say they do not add clarity on either death, and the full medical files are not public.
