Tariffs can raise consumer prices, but the same basic question applies to corporate income taxes: who ultimately bears the cost? If the objection is that businesses do not absorb taxes cleanly, that principle cannot apply only when Trump chooses the tax. The serious debate is about each tax's burden and trade-offs—not which party imposed it.

@TPUSA what the fuck is wrong with you? Get a handle on your shit because there are so many people who keep defending you, but when we see this shit, we ask ourselves why. Im not going to stop supporting Erika, the mission Charlie started, or TPUSA in general, but here's some to…
Supporting Erika, Charlie's mission, and TPUSA does not require pretending every decision is defensible. “Pick up the mic” means something because supporters see it as Charlie's mic. Putting TPUSA's logo beside people who oppose what he stood for signals endorsement. A big tent with no gatekeeping eventually stands for nothing.

The doomer grifters have this narcissistic fantasy that they're going to create some magically 3rd party that's going to be bigger than MAGA. The truth is they're running candidates that can't even get 10% in a primary, or they're quitting in disgrace, or they're getting humil…
Anti-MAGA third-party projects keep promising a movement larger than MAGA without showing an electoral base. Their candidates struggle, their media circles repeat the same pessimism, and their actual effect may be to help Democrats rather than build a viable alternative. Tone rewrite only. I have spent 61 days in FDC Miami’s special housing unit. I was moved to a cell that I say has no hot water or air conditioning and is infested with roaches, while senior staff have not addressed my complaints. I am pursuing legal action over the conditions and asking to be treated like any other prisoner. Tone rewrite only. Claims remain the author’s and are not independently verified.

Republicans should keep the Save Our Bacon Act out of the Farm Bill. In my view, it would benefit Chinese-owned Smithfield at the expense of American farmers and consumers. Tone rewrite only. Claims remain the author's and are not independently verified.

AI could create enormous opportunities, but politicians and pundits are rushing to regulate it through fear before they understand it. Even people who once defended markets are joining the demand for more government control. I think that risks slowing innovation to preserve political power rather than protect the public. I believe political institutions and media have deepened division by framing opponents as enemies. The midterms will determine whether Trump can keep advancing his agenda or whether Democrats and resistant Republicans can block and reverse it. Supporters who want that agenda preserved need to vote.

Claims about water, energy, jobs, safety, competition and subsidies now drive a bipartisan push to restrict AI and data centers. I think freezing or heavily regulating the technology would risk obstructing the next industrial transformation.

Listening to civil servants in Parliament, what strikes me is the disconnect from the private sector that funds them. Out there, nobody has a guaranteed pay rise, a comfortable pension or a job that survives the company running out of money; every month the wages, rent and tax must be found. Inside the state it is four day weeks and nobody sacked, spending money the productive economy earned. Government should run the way every small business must: money is finite, performance matters, failure has consequences. Tone rewrite only. Tomorrow the leaders of Northern Ireland, Wales and Scotland meet to sign a declaration planning the breakup of the United Kingdom. I think that is a mistake. We are one people on these islands, too interwoven for a border not to hurt all of us. Ask a separatist "Am I a foreigner?" and none can say yes. The union is what let us flourish; put the borders back and we compete against our own brothers and sisters. And a vote would not settle it: every election afterwards would be fought by a rejoin faction. Tone rewrite only. Claims remain the author's and are not independently verified.

People protested Mayor Mamdani yesterday, on the 25th anniversary of 9/11, not over anything he has done but because he is a Muslim in a city struck by Islamist terrorists 25 years ago. That was anti-Muslim bigotry, and it had no place in New York. That New Yorkers elected a young Muslim to lead their city a quarter century after 9/11 is something the whole country should be proud of. Prejudice against his faith did not stop a majority from giving him a chance. Patriots love Americans in the real world, whatever their race, religion or creed. I have loved Warcraft since I was a kid. I'm a Horde fan, orcs for life, and that's where World of Warcraft lost me. The game never respected the Horde as a faction. First came the Undead, whose theme sits outside Thrall's shamanistic Horde. Then TBC added Blood Elves with paladins, and the Horde stopped looking like burly, savage but honorable monsters. Today's BlizzCon was supposed to bring Classic Plus for vanilla fans like me. Instead we got Undead paladins and a new elf who can join either faction. The story has the same problem: Sylvanas went from a side character to the most powerful being in the universe and humiliated Horde legends like Saurfang. Elves are all Warcraft seems to think about, and I'm done. Tone rewrite only. Claims remain the author's and are not independently verified.

Parliament defeated the Government on assisted dying today, by 16 votes. I was an accountant, so watching the $5k dividend debate is painful. We already carry enormous debt. Only about half of us pay income tax, and about half of those pay under $5k, so there is no separate fund that makes this free. There is no free lunch. Now self-described anti-socialists are arguing for redistribution because this time their side is doing it. Meanwhile my quarterly tax checks, each one the size of a year of college or a decent car, get run through bloated bureaucracies before a small slice comes back as a gift. Shadi Hamid of the Washington Post has spent years arguing that the Muslim Brotherhood was nonviolent, that it and offshoots like Hamas were an aspiring democratic force, and that Israel is what keeps Arabs from democratising. Now he calls me a fringe Palestinian voice for writing in the New York Times that Hamas should be removed and held accountable for Gaza's devastation. Hamas stole aid, militarised Gaza, launched wars that killed tens of thousands and carried out the worst single-day massacre of Jews since the Holocaust. In his account it bears no blame at all. A year on, not a day has passed without Charlie Kirk crossing my mind, usually in the morning and around my kids. Everything I get to do with them was taken from him and from his. The safe move would be to leave politics so it never happens to my family. I will not think that way. Charlie was mocked for years for trying to shift the youth vote, tuned it out, and delivered in 2024. He sat at a folding table in hostile places while the critics stayed home. Every controversial signing shows how some hockey fans work: grab the worst available word and run with it, with zero research of their own. A year on, the conservative movement has failed Charlie Kirk. His death didn’t unite the right; it fractured into conspiracy theories, first about foreign governments, then about TPUSA, and finally about his own wife. Erika can’t smile or frown without being called evil, and the friends making money off his name won’t defend her. Tyler Robinson was responsible.
